November 2010 was a huge victory for the GOP. Many thought this was the signal of a conservative resurgence in the nation. Others asked: How long would it take them to turn that into massive anti-GOP sentiment? Today, Erie County Clerk Kathy Hochul defeated Republican state Assemblywoman Jane Corwin 47-43 in a special election. The significance? New York's 26th district is historically VERY largely Republican. Less than 6 months after the GOP took control of the House, they lost a Republican stronghold to a Democrat. America is having buyer's remorse and the GOP will feel more in 2012.
