Jobs

• Stimulus caused a net gain of 2.5 million jobs.  Without the stimulus, 2.5 million more people would not have jobs today. (September 2011)
• Private sector lost 4.6% of its jobs before Obama came into office
• Before the Stimulus passed the economy was literally nose-diving.  5 months after the Stimulus passed the recession ended, we were stable
• Since the end of the Great Recession the private sector grew by 1.6% (September 2011)
• Impeding recovery is the loss of over 600,000 state and municipal jobs since Obama entered office.
• If state and municipal jobs stayed the same, unemployment would currently be 8.86% or better (September 2011)

Health Care

• Gave businesses financial aide to extend health care to retirees who are 55 and not yet eligible for Medicare.
• 4 million prescription rebate checks mailed to seniors
• 18.9 million seniors have received free medical services
• Allowed 1 million additional young adults to become insured through their parents insurance

1. we the people need jobs. My husband was without a job for 2 years and has recently gained employment but earning 65% less than what he was making 2 years ago. I have been laid off 2 years coming this November and have been unable to find employment. Something has got to be done, if nothing is done the America we have known in the past that was successful may return too late for many Americans. So many families have lost their jobs, their homes. Some have turned to dishonesty to keep their families together.
2. I know it's time to end the gridlocks and games in Washington
3. Our country needs jobs. Stop trying to keep Amercans out of jobs, get it together and vote to bring jobs back to Americans!
4. the need to put unemployed people back to work for additional revenue is simple common sense. To only consider reducing the debt will not get this country back on track.
5. it will help both business owners and employees.The president has brought together several fantastic ideas from all across the political spectrum.Now is the time to act and help America's economy in any way possible.

2. It is time to act to get americans back to work. Please stop worring about who will get the credit for doing something good for this country. Do the right thing for our country not your party!
3. I AM one of those small business owners. My customers need jobs so they can have income to buy from small businesses like mine. It's time we ALL did our fair share. Pass this bill now!!
4. We hemorrhaged jobs in 2008, and we have yet to recover even the ones we lost, let alone to put our country back on a path towards (sustainable) growth. That's what the American Jobs Act aims to do, and that's why I support it, and I urge you to support it as well. Economists may disagree on the magnitude of the impact on jobs -- ranging from 1 million to 2 million jobs created just in 2012 -- but I haven't heard one respected economist say that this bill would have a detrimental effect on the economy. Don't be obstructionist on this one, please. For our sake and for yours. We sent you guys to Washington to do a job, and you haven't done it.
5. I broke my back five years ago and have been unable to work or redeive federal disability. They have made it impossible. I have no income yet am very capable, speak French, Spanish and have 35 years of experience. I keep putting out my resume, sometimes 20 a day, but no one calls me back. The phone just doesn't ring. I used to be able to work anytime, anywhere, I was a moneymaker...now I have to live most frugally from the kindness of strangers. Please invest the taxpayer money on the taxpayers, our infrastructure, roads, bridges, schools, postal, police, fire, school buses for free, all of these are Labor Intensive investments, rather than the Capital Intensive Defense spending.
